3 – 5 YEAR STRATEGIC VISION
Community Wesleyan Church, the church on the corner, has been part of the Horseheads community for more than 70 years. The Word of God will continue to be read and preached from the pulpit. All current and future programming will be Bible based.
The Mission statement for CWC was developed by a small group of church members and Pastors. This statement was created for the purpose of leading families into a meaningful relationship with God, coming alongside one another and others who are seeking God, or those who already have a relationship but want a deeper relationship with the Lord, doing life together and accepting all who come.
Also, building real, meaningful relationships, and being transparent in who we are, a loving church family and people in the community, and edifying the body of Christ through teaching the Word of God by the way of small group’s studies, Sunday school classes, church ministry groups and activities. Learning to become disciples for the Lord together and keeping in mind the Great Commission.
Christian education is an important part of Community Wesleyan Church. The adult department is strong; however, we are looking to grow the children’s, youth, and young adult departments. In the next five years Community Wesleyan Church will extend the outreach to surrounding neighborhoods and schools, inviting children and families to various Church programs.
