Born out of the camp meeting era of the early 40’s and after a camp meeting next door to the present church, a group of believers felt that salvation and holiness were important enough to organize what is now Loganton Wesleyan Church. Stones were picked from the local mountainside and a stone church was erected with a corner stone displaying a date of 1941. Later in the 1980’s a spacious addition that seats 160 was added but the old stone front still testifies to lives, then and now, being radically changed by the gospel.
Located in the mountain village of Rosecrans, Loganton Wesleyan serves the nearby borough of Loganton and two surrounding townships of Greene and Logan all referred to as Sugar Valley. It is strategically located between State College and Williamsport, just off Interstate 80 Exit 185. People travel from far and near to come to Sugar Valley events such as fire company dinners, an outstanding Memorial Day parade, and Amish stores throughout the valley. Yes one can often observe a horse and buggy passing by as many Amish have settled in the area creating quite an attraction.
Loganton Wesleyan Church is located at 4972 Long Run Road, Loganton. Loganton is a borough in southern Clinton County, PA in the Sugar Valley, part of the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians and is situated at the southern base of Sugar Valley Mountain. Sugar Valley gathered its name from the rich abundance and overall size of the Sugar Maple trees it held which were discovered upon first settlement
