Lead Pastor Full Time

Port Ann Wesleyan, a small church with strong community outreach located in rural Snyder County, Pennsylvania, is looking for an engaging, creative and God-focused lead pastor who has a heart for the congregation and our local communities nestled along the natural beauty of Jack’s Mountain.

While the pandemic has created a number of challenges for our church, especially in such a rural location, our church has found ways to creatively minister to the local community. We offer several large events at our church throughout the calendar year that attract in hundreds of people of all ages and we seek a pastor who can help us engage and bring back these families for more regular attendance and membership within the church.

Our church is blessed with a strong core of families who work well together, savor God’s natural beauty and have a heart for His work. We seek a pastor who can help shepherd this flock and grow our discipleship across numerous small local communities.

The lead pastor is a full-time position that comes with an on-site parsonage.

Main responsibilities include:
·        Lead our weekly Sunday morning services and preach biblically accurate messages that engage people of different ages and backgrounds

·        Help grow weekly bible studies and prayer sessions across each age group

·        Be a part of church functions and events with a goal of bringing people back after the event

·        Help coordinate church visitations and outreach to those who are home-bound

·        Provide an example of godly living for others in the congregation

·        Help lead our Local Board of Administration

Relevant experience and education:

·        Thorough familiarity and agreement with Wesleyan doctrine and articles of religion of The Wesleyan Church (must be ordained or eligible for ordination in The Wesleyan Church)

·        Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries (or related field); graduate degree preferred

·        Team-oriented leader

·        Compassionate shepherd who cares about and wants to add to our flock
