Lead Pastor – Mount Union Wesleyan Church Full Time

Mount Union Wesleyan Church, In Mount Union PA is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastoral
candidate to shepherd and lead our congregation with a strong emphasis on biblical discipleship and
spiritual formation.

Mount Union is a community of approximately 2,200 residents located in south-central Pennsylvania.
The church is situated 15–20 minutes from Juniata College and Raystown Lake, approximately one
hour from State College (Penn State), Chambersburg, and Altoona, and midway between Pittsburgh
and Philadelphia.

The congregation averages 65–85 in attendance and reflects a multi-generational body with a median
age of approximately 45. The church offers ongoing children’s, youth, and adult ministries and
gathers weekly for a contemporary worship service led by a praise band.

The congregation is seeking a pastor who:
 Is credentialed or pursuing credentials in The Wesleyan Church
 Affirms and teaches the Articles of Religion and core doctrines of The Wesleyan Church
 Is committed to salvation by grace through faith, the authority of Scripture, the transforming work
of the Holy Spirit, and the Wesleyan emphasis on entire sanctification and holy living
 Demonstrates a calling to intentional discipleship, spiritual formation, and the development of
mature followers of Jesus Christ
 Leads with a heart for evangelism and disciple-making, locally and globally, in alignment with the
mission of The Wesleyan Church
 Provides biblical preaching and teaching that is faithful, relevant, and Christ-centered
 Exhibits strong pastoral leadership, communication skills, and shepherding care
 Is willing to serve within and partner with the connectional system of the Penn-York District and
The Wesleyan Church

Primary Responsibilities Include:
 Preaching and teaching the Word of God
 Leading the congregation in disciple-making and spiritual growth
 Providing pastoral care and oversight of church ministries
 Equipping and mentoring leaders
 Engaging the local community through outreach consistent with Wesleyan compassion and
holiness
